GIVMETHREESTEPSMR (f, 2, Magna Graduate--Twelve Steps, by Cape Town), bet down from 8-1 on the morning line to 2-1 favoritism, lived up to her name from the break, outstepping the rest to assume the early lead. Lucky Mary G. (Forestry) quickly rushed up to challenge her and led by a neck rounding the turn, but was a bit hard to handle entering the stretch, and Givemethreestepsmr wrested back control. The latter began to get away from them a furlong out and skipped home over the slop to win by 4 1/4 lengths. Longshot Moonwalk (Malibu Moon) was second, with Ocean Park (Divine Park) in third.
