POTESTA (f, 3, Macho Uno--Katzen {SW, $246,721}, by Furiously) was backed down to favoritism for her 6 1/2-furlong unveiling at Santa Anita Mar. 22, and came with a late run to be second. She again took the brunt of the action here, and made 3-5 look like a bargain. The dark bay dragged her way to the front and posted splits of :24.58, :49.25 and 1:13.59. She built her advantage to about four lengths while in hand at the top of the stretch, and galloped home the easiest of winners to hit the line 11 1/2 lengths clear.
