Arc Heroine Danedream Ruled Out of Defence

As a result of a case of swamp fever being discovered at Cologne racecourse, last year's Arc heroine Danedream (Ger) (Lomitas {GB}) has to enter quarantine and therefore misses Sunday's renewal. The finding of the single case of the highly contagious viral disease, which causes severe anaemia, resulted in the horse in question being euthanized and all stabled at the Cologne track put under quarantine for three months, a time span which can be prolonged if more cases occur. Race fixtures on Wednesday and Sunday, Oct. 14 which features the G3 Preis des Winterfavoriten, have been cancelled.
