Team Valor International and Mark Ford's Went The Day Well (Proud Citizen), hero of the GIII Vinery Racing Spiral S. at Turfway Park and fourth-place finisher in the GI Kentucky Derby, has developed bone bruising in his front ankles and will miss the remainder of 2012. The New York-bred reported home a well-beaten 10th in the GI Preakness S. most recently May 19. He will be turned out for 60 days at Denali Stud. "He probably was suffering from this issue when he ran so poorly in the Preakness S., but it did not manifest itself for a diagnosis until he went back into hard work," Team Valor principal Barry Irwin commented. "We will look to bring him back to the races in January at Gulfstream Park."
