The half-brother to Arienza (Giant's Causeway), GSP, $113,418, went postward as the 3-1 choice despite the lengthy hiatus, but things didn't look to promising on the backstretch, when he was more than 12 lengths off a :47.44 opening half. Take Control gradually began to make up ground and, when guided to the outside in the lane, determinedly ran down Shaun Washington (Elusive Quality) to score by 1 1/2 lengths.
