FLEUR DE LIS H.-GII, $150,000, 3yo/up, f/m, 1 1/8m, 1:49.49, ft.
ROYAL DELTA (f, 3, Empire Maker--Delta Princess, by A.P. Indy), acquired by Benjamin Leon, Jr.'s Besilu Stables for $8.5 million last year at Keeneland November just days after she'd won the GI Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic, got off to a rough start in 2012. She trailed home Awesome Maria (Maria's Mon) by a wide margin in the GIII Sabin S. at Gulfstream Feb. 25, then didn't get a chance to run a step when hemmed in in the G1 Dubai World Cup Mar. 31. Looking to get back on track at the scene of her biggest win, the reigning champion 3-year-old filly did so with style, rallying from just off the pace to a dominant eight-length win over Afleeting Lady (Afleet Alex). Lifetime Record: 11-6-2-1.
