La Peinture does not currently hold an entry in the G1 Prix de Diane at Chantilly June 17, but at her current rate of progression she may make a supplement irresistible for connections. Unbeaten in three starts in the provinces prior to adding the Listed Prix Rose de Mai to her tally at Saint-Cloud last time Mar. 17, the chestnut defied a penalty here to boost her Classic claims. Settled behind the leading trio early as the pace proved moderate, she found her way to the front with a furlong remaining and was not fully extended to maintain her perfect record. "I would have been disappointed had she not won this very easily, as she is a very nice filly," trainer Frederic Rossi commented, before adding cryptically, "I don't want her to have a hard race before the one I have in mind for her." The winner's dam is closely related to champion and treble Group 1 winner Peintre Celebre, a son of Nureyev produced by La Peinture's third dam.
