+BEAR'S FURR (c, 2, Langfuhr--Latte, by Pleasant Tap), an astute $75,000 FTFFEB juvenile acquisition by trainer Reade Baker after working in :10.3, registered the slight upset here over a well-intentioned rival. It was the Todd Pletcher-trained Jocosity (Sharp Humor), himself a $210,000 OBSMAR juvenile, who attracted the most support as the 3-5 choice, with Bear's Furr off at 5-1. The latter broke from the rail and was quickest of all, sprinting out to a narrow advantage before being joined by Towncat (Cowtown Cat) and Jocosity to make it three in a line. Jocosity looked to be going best off all in upper stretch as the two kicked away, but Bear's Furr dug in determinedly and turned back the challenge to win going away by 1 1/2 lengths. Are You Kidding Me (Run Away And Hide) finished third, with Towncat fading to sixth. The winner, a half to Citizen Bags, SW-Pan, was originally a $26,000 KEESEP yearling.
