   Miss Empire missed the break slightly in her May 5 debut over 4 1/2 furlongs of the Cushion Track and finished a one-paced fourth behind Unusual Way (Unusual Heat) and Awesome Annie. Pressing on to stakes company despite that even bow, Miss Empire was bumped at the break and was in the first flight of horses while in touch.
