TDN MAGAZINE, The International Difference: Part III of A Painful Truth: "Welfare in Europe means to train the horse without any chemicals and make him race if he can face the challenge,” says France Galop's Dr. Roland Devolz. “In your country, welfare means to be allowed to use as many drugs as possible to ensure the horse will support training and race." Whose version is right? Part 3 of A Painful Truth examines North America's singular stance on medication. Download part three by clicking here.

Silver Max continued his domination of his division in the Midwest. A front-running winner of Keeneland's GIII Transylvania S. Apr. 6, the bay mirrored that effort in the GII American Turf S. at Churchill May 4, and was hammered at the windows to take his winning streak to four here. Silver Max eagerly assumed his customary spot on the engine and made every pole a winning one. "He's pretty cool little horse," said winning rider Shaun Bridgmohan. "We got to the front pretty easy and it was all business from there. I was just a good passenger." Click for the brisnet.com chart. Video, sponsored by Taylor Made Sales.
