Inglis and the Australian Turf Club will in 2019 introduce a new A$2-million race for 2-year-olds, the Inglis Millennium, and a new A$1-million race for 3-year-olds, the Inglis Sprint, as part of the annual Inglis Race Day at Warwick Farm each February. The races are part of the revamped Inglis Race Series for all Inglis sales graduates which will now be worth A$8-million.

The Inglis Race Day will take place on the second Saturday of February each year to coincide with opening night of the company's first annual sale, the Classic Yearling Sale, at Riverside Stables on the Warwick Farm property. This year's Inglis Race Day will include the A$250,000 Inglis Classic for 2-year-olds, the A$250,000 Inglis Sprint for 3-year-olds as well as the G2 Breeders Classic and G3 Eskimo Prince S.

The Inglis Race Series will also include a new A$3-million Inglis Triple Crown bonus. To win, a horse must win either or both the Inglis Banner and Inglis Nursery in leg one, the Inglis Millennium in leg two and the G1 Inglis Sires' Produce S. in leg three.

Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster said the decision to put more money into the Inglis Race Series was to provide a direct boost to supporting clients.

“The Inglis Millennium will provide our clients with another great lead-up option into the Blue Diamond and Golden Slipper, just as the Inglis Nursery has proven in recent years with She Will Reign, Extreme Choice and Mossfun winning the Nursery on the way to Diamond or Slipper glory,” Webster said. “The ATC has been a great support in getting behind this new concept and we look forward to seeing more champions of the turf come through an Inglis sale ring and go on to win the Inglis Millennium to kick-start their careers both on and off the race track.”

“With the Inglis Race Series now worth $8-million, there really is no better time to buy a yearling through Inglis in 2018 as we begin another new chapter with our move to Riverside Stables.”
