Inglis Releases Chairman's Catalogue

The Chairman's sale includes the first Australian mares in foal to American Pharoah | Sarah Andrew

Inglis has released the catalogue for the second renewal of its Chairman's Breeding Stock Sale, set for Apr. 12 at Riverside Stables. The 198 lots catalogued comprise 140 broodmares, 39 weanlings, 12 race fillies and seven stallion shares.

The five Group 1-winning mares catalogued include the New Zealand Oaks winner Savaria (NZ) (Savabeel {Aus}) carrying her first foal by Exceed and Excel (Aus) (lot 128); Railway S. winner In Style (NZ) (Fast 'n' Famous {NZ}) carrying her second foal by I Am Invincible (Aus) (lot 76); and Coolmore Stud S. winner Headway (Aus) (Charge Forward {Aus}) in foal to Written Tycoon (Aus) (lot 69).

The 38 additional stakes-winning mares catalogued include mares carrying to the first crop of the likes of U.S. Triple Crown winner American Pharoah and G1 Golden Slipper winner Capitalist (Aus). There are 11 mares in foal to American Pharoah, including young stakes winners Sebring Sally (Aus) (Sebring {Aus}) (lot 129) and Amberio (NZ) (Captain Rio {GB}) (lot 175). Salix Caprea (Aus) (Catbird) (lot 127), the dam of Group 2 winner Catkins (Aus) (Dubawi {Ire}), is among the mares offered in foal to Capitalist (Aus). Dizelle (Aus) (Zabeel {NZ}), the dam of last year's G1 Victoria Oaks winner Pinot (Aus) (Pierro {Aus}), is catalogued in foal to another first-crop covering sire, Flying Artie (Aus).

While the first-season covering sires always draw plenty of interest there are plenty of offerings in foal to Australia's leading proven sires like Snitzel (Aus), I Am Invincible, Written Tycoon, Not A Single Doubt (Aus) as well as Frankel (GB). Stallion shares will also be offered in I Am Invincible, Sebring, Hinchinbrook (Aus), All Too Hard (Aus) and Nicconi (Aus).

“There is no doubt the world's leading buyers will be targeting this sale given the outstanding investment opportunities this catalogue presents,” said Inglis's General Manager of Bloodstock Jonathan D'Arcy. “All the weanlings catalogued in the sale are top-end select sale prospects and the broodmares are a mix of young stakes-winning mares on their first or second covers and proven producers carrying valuable foals.”
