Increase in Foals Reported

The number of foals registered this year in Britain and Ireland are both up marginally, according to the Weatherbys Return of Mares, which will be published on Nov. 2. Thus far, 4,674 foals have been registered in Britain, up 2% on last year and following increases of 5% and 3%. In Ireland, 9,044 foals have been registered, up 3% from last year following increases of 10% and 7%. Foals have continued to be registered since the Sept. 30 cutoff, and final numbers will be available in the Weatherbys Return of Mares Supplement in early February.
