It was the third win on the card for pilot Antonio Gallardo. Gunned immediately to the lead, the chestnut threw down splits of :23.04, :46.33. Only second choice Cosmic Girl (Street Cry {Ire}) attempted to make a race of it as the duo shook free of the remainder in upper stretch, traveling three-quarters in 1:11.96, but R Girls a Charmer had more in reserve and zipped across the line an easy winner. Second to undefeated subsequent optional claiming winner Dearest (Midshipman) when unveiled at Gulfstream Park West Nov. 28, the fresh sophomore graduated by 6 3/4 lengths sprinting in Hallandale Jan. 2.
