Holler Royal Ascot-Bound

Godolphin's Holler (Aus) (Commands {Aus}) is headed for Royal Ascot's G1 Diamond Jubilee S. after pleasing connections with a second-place finish in a Randwick barrier trial Friday.

“That was all I wanted him to do, have a nice hit-out and stay out of trouble,” said trainer John O'Shea. “He's got a lot of residual fitness. He'll have another gallop in about a week which will leave us a bit to work with when we get to England.”

Holler won the 1300-metre G1 Canterbury S. at Randwick Mar. 5 and was last seen finishing a short-head second in Moonee Valley's G1 William Reid S. Mar. 24. He is the lone Australian entrant for Royal Ascot.

“We're looking at following the same course as with Brazen Beau last year and go for the Diamond Jubilee,” said Godolphin's Henry Plumptre. “It's a solid six furlongs but he's won at Group 1 level in Australia at 1300 metres [6 1/2 furlongs], so we think he'll be best suited at that trip.”

Holler is due to gallop between races at Randwick May 28 and is scheduled to fly out of Sydney June 2. The Diamond Jubilee takes place on the last day of the Royal meeting June 18.
