Just weeks out from its flagship Easter Yearling Sale, Chairman's sales and Broodmare and Weanling Sale, Inglis on Sunday hosted its Autumn Sale of mixed racehorses in Melbourne, which saw 154 horses sell at a 93% clearance rate. Total spend was A$1,567,850, while the average of A$10,181 was up 15.3% from last year. The median dipped 20% to A$4,000.
“There was magnificent competition within the buying bench and for any sale to reach a 93% clearance rate is outstanding,” said Inglis's Victorian Bloodstock Manager Simon Vivian. “Godolphin, Lindsay Park, the vast majority of the vendors who supported the sale have left extremely satisfied with their results. We moved the sale from a Friday to a Sunday and the results showed that was definitely what our buying bench preferred for this particular sale.”
Lindsay Park's 2-year-old filly Pedicel (Aus) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}) (lot 176) topped trade at A$85,000 when picked up by GB Bloodstock. She is an unraced half-sister to the Group 3-placed Nettoyer (Aus) (Sebring {Aus}). Under the third dam are the likes of Japanese champion and sire Kinshasa No Kiseki (Aus) (Fuji Kiskei {Jpn}) and Group 1 winners Abbey Marie (Aus) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}) and Absolutely (Aus) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}).
The highest-priced colt of the sale was Sun Stud's 4-year-old Epic Moment (Aus) (Snitzel {Aus}) (lot 188), bought by McPherson Racing for A$72,000. The three-time winner is from the immediate family of Black Caviar (Aus) (Bel Esprit {Aus}) and All Too Hard (Aus) (Casino Prince {Aus}).
