The first session of the two day Goffs UK Autumn Sale on Tuesday was dedicated to yearlings and it was a son of Mickley Stud's Heeraat (Ire) that topped proceedings when selling for £20,000. Lot 58 was also offered by Mickley Stud and was knocked down to Yorkshire trainer Tim Easterby. 115 yearlings were catalogued for the day with 110 showing up for sale and from that number 82 found new homes for a 75% clearance rate. Total receipts for the day amounted to £347,000, giving an average of £4,232 and a median of £3,200. The second highest price of the day was achieved by a son of Juddmonte stallion Bated Breath (GB) when lot 52 from Trickledown Stud made £14,500 to the bid of P.D. Bloodstock. Horses in training take centre stage on day two of the sale which begins at 10 a.m. with large drafts offered from Godolphin and Shadwell as well as offerings from trainers such as Richard Fahey, John Gosden, Karl Burke, Mark Johnston and Kevin Ryan.
