Harlan's Holiday's Shanghai Bobby Named Champion 2YO Male

Shanghai Bobby (Harlan’s Holiday–Steelin’, by Orientate) received all but one of the first-place votes and was named champion 2-year-old male at Saturday night’s Eclipse Award ceremonies in Hallandale, Florida. Owned by Starlight Racing and the Coolmore partnership, the dark bay colt was conditioned to five wins from as many starts in 2012, capped by a gritty head victory in the GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita. Shanghai Bobby is slated to make his much anticipated sophomore debut in the GIII Holy Bull S. at Gulfstream Park next Saturday. It was the second Eclipse for Starlight, having campaigned Ashado (Saint Ballado) to a championship season in 2005.
