Grade I Winner Celestine to Moyglare

Celestine | Adam Coglianese

One of the most progressive racemares of 2016, Celestine (4, Scat Daddy–Mona Mia, by Monarchos) took up the cause just past the midway point of day one of the Keeneland November Sale, selling to Fiona Craig on behalf of Moyglare Stud for $2.55 million. A $100,000 Keeneland September graduate, Celestine (hip 144) was audaciously bought back on a bid of $975,000 out of the 2014 OBS June Sale, but has made that decision look good this term. After snapping a three-race losing streak with a victory in the GII Honey Fox S. at Gulfstream Park, the dark bay belied odds of 15-2 to win the GI Just A Game S., stopping the clock in 1:31.61. She was subsequently third off the layoff in the GI First Lady S. As they did with Discreet Marq (Discreet Cat), Moyglare will continue to race Celestine with trainer Christophe Clement. Taylor Made consigned Celestine to the November sale.
