Nudged along approaching the final quarter mile, the 30-1 outsider seized control with 300 metres remaining and was pushed out to score by 1 1/4 lengths from Beyond Apollo (Fr) (Sea the Stars {Ire}). Proconsul (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), a full-brother to Frankel (GB), was well positioned until fading in the straight and was eased late to finish eighth. The winner's GIII Old Hat S.-winning dam is a half-sister to GIII Bold Ruler H. victor Uncle Camie (Abaginone), and she has also produced a yearling filly by Colonel John and a filly foal by Will Take Charge.
