Gaining a narrow advantage, the bay ticked off a half in :45.64 with a pair of rivals breathing down his neck. Shaking free a bit at the top of the stretch, Federal Case kept on finding under an enthusiastic hand ride from Geroux to hold off the rallying 4-5 favorite Locally Owned (Distorted Humor) by a neck.
