Yucatan was a first-up seventh, over this course and distance last time Aug. 8, and found a smooth rhythm in the second rank through the early strides of this return. Nudged closer after passing halfway, the 4-1 chance made continued headway into contention at the two pole and kept on strongly under a late drive to deny stablemate Taj Mahal (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) by a head. The bay is out of MG1SW European champion Six Perfections (Fr) (Celtic Swing {GB}) and is thus a full-brother to GIII Modesty H. victress Faufiler (Ire), and half to G2 Prix du Gros-Chene winner Planet Five. Six Perfections, who is out of an unraced half to the storied Miesque (Nureyev), has also produced a yearling filly and a filly foal, both by Galileo (Ire).
