Goffs's single session Horses-in-Training Sale was staged in Co. Kildare on Tuesday, with the unraced 2-year-old filly Sarrocchi (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) (lot 20) taking centre stage when selling to Fozzy Stack for €215,000. Sarrocchi was offered by Ballydoyle. She is out of the French stakes winner and Group 2-placed Thai Haku (Ire) (Oasis Dream {GB}), and is from the extended family of Group 1 winners Hernando (Fr) and Johann Quatz (Fr). Stack also spent €52,000 on an unnamed 2-year-old son of Galileo from Thomastown Castle out of the Group 3-placed Kirinda (Ire) (Tiger Hill {Ire}) (lot 6).

It was another 2-year-old filly who became the only other horse on the day to make six figures: Rionach (GB) (lot 150B), a daughter of Sea The Stars (Ire) who is twice-placed this year, was offered by Highford Stud and hammered down to Robert Moran for €140,000. The bay is out of the stakes-placed Forest Crown (GB) (Royal Applause {GB}), from the further family of Grade/Group 1 winners like Crowded House (GB), Ticker Tape (GB) and Brando (GB).

The highest-priced male of the day was the €85,000 Erratic Path (Ire) (Elusive Pimpernel) (lot 109). The 3-year-old gelding, the winner of a maiden race going a mile and one furlong at Gowran on Sept. 16, is out of the G3 Brownstown S. winner Berg Bahn (Ire) (Big Bad Bob {Ire}) and is a full-brother to the stakes-placed Elusive Heights (Ire).

The highest-priced colt of the day was Moyglare Stud's 3-year-old Frankel (GB) colt Solo Saxophone (Ire) (lot 80), who was sold to Brendan Bashford and Ryan Mahon for €62,000. The son of GIII Monrovia S. winner Society Hostess (Seeking The Gold) has placed in all four starts.

In all, 86 were sold from 113 offered for €1,442,600, compared to 103 sold for €1,704,400 last year. While the buyback rate was up to 23.9% from 10.4%, the average improved 1.4% to €16,774. The median dipped 7.7% to €6,000.

Goffs continues selling on Wednesday with the start of the two-day open yearling sale at 10 a.m.
