Tyler Gaffalione, Victor Barboza Jr. and Arindel all took home titles as the Gulfstream Park Summer Meet came to a close on Sunday.

Gaffalione had to hold off Emisael Jaramillo, who won the final two races of the meet, on the last day to secure the honors of top jockey with a margin of 76-74. Earlier in the meet, Gaffalione tied the Gulfstream Park record for wins on a single card with seven on July 4, only tying Jerry Bailey's mark, who set it in 1995.

“It's an honor. My agent and I worked hard, traveling around. It was tough to maintain the lead but he does a great job,” Gaffalione said. “My hat's off to Emisael Jaramillo, Edgard Zayas and the other riders who rode very well this meet and made it very competitive and fun for everybody.”

Victor Barboza, Jr. took home his first trainers' title with 29 wins, five better than Ralph Nicks and Antonio Sano. The Venezuela native was a three-time champion trainer in his home country before coming to the United States in 2015.

Alan Cohen's Ocala-based Arindel ended the summer meet as leading owner with 13 wins, two more than Frank Calabrese and three better than Midwest Thoroughbreds. Arindel also led all owners with nearly $700,000 in purse earnings.
