TROARN (FR) (f, 3, Wootton Bassett {GB}–Darkova, by Maria's Mon), who was a debut fourth over this trip at Chantilly on debut last time Apr. 3, settled in mid division after the initial strides of this turf bow. Inching ever closer from halfway, the 7-5 chalk challenged going well at the two pole and was pushed clear once taking over approaching the final eighth to comfortably account for Lotus Cafe (Fr) (Siyouni {Fr}) by two lengths. The €110,000 ARAUG yearling is the second winner out of the unraced Darkova (Maria's Mon) and is a full-sister to last term's MG1SW European highweight Almanzor (Fr) and a yearling colt. She is also kin to the 2-year-old colt Sounds Good (Fr) (Falco). Her second dam is the stakes-winning Darkara (Ire) (Halling), who is a half-sister to the stakes-placed Darinski (Ire) (Mark of Esteem {Ire}) and G3 Prix de Royaumont third Darinska (Ire) (Zilzal), herself the dam of MG1SW European champion distaffer Darjina (Fr) (Zamindar).
