A full field of 16 runners looks likely to go forward for the A$1-Million G1 Railway S. at Ascot in Perth on Saturday. Currently heading the betting for the 1600m contest is the locally trained Scales Of Justice (Aus) (Not A Single Doubt {Aus}) who is bidding for back to back wins in the Railway. The 5-year-old, who will be partnered by Doug Whyte, won a pair of group 3 races at Belmont over the Summer and warmed up for Saturday with a third place finish in the G2 Waroa-Lee Steere S. at Ascot Nov. 11. Five-time Group 1 winner Black Heart Bart (Aus) (Blackfriars {Aus}) will shoulder top weight of 56kg in the race as he bids to get back in the winner's enclosure. The Darren Weir trained 7-year-old has been running well all season but has not gotten his head in front since winning the G1 Futurity S. at Caulfield in February. Chris Waller will have a strong hand in the race with his pair of Tom Melbourne (Ire) (Dylan Thomas {Ire}) and All Our Roads (NZ) (Road To Rock {Aus}) set to take part. Nobody would begrudge Tom Melbourne a top flight victory given he has been narrowly beaten in two group 1 races already this season and he holds a form advantage over his stable-mate on their running in the G1 Kennedy Mile at Flemington Nov. 4 when Tom Melbourne was beaten a head by Shillelagh (NZ) (Savabeel {Aus}), with All Our Roads almost three lengths back in fourth.
