Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin confirmed Friday that Godolphin Racing's Frosted (Tapit), the leading member of the East Coast handicap division thanks to smashing successes in the June 11 GI Metropolitan H. and Aug. 6 GI Whitney S., will run in the Spa's GI Woodward S. next Saturday. He will be joined by stablemate Mubtaahij (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}), who was second in the G1 Dubai World Cup in March for Mike de Kock and finished third for McLaughlin and owner Essafinaat in the GII Suburban H. July 9. Both 4-year-old colts covered four furlongs in :49 flat Thursday–Frosted over Greentree Training Center's all-weather surface, and Mubtaahij on the Saratoga main track. “Frosted worked great [Thursday] and came out of it great today,” McLaughlin said Friday morning. “The boss [Sheikh Mohammed] through [Godolphin racing manager] John Ferguson gave the okay for the Woodward. Mubtaahij also worked well and all systems are 'go' for him as well.”
