Proconsul (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), a 4-year-old full-brother to Frankel (GB), will stand his first season at Richard Kent's Mickley Stud in Shropshire in 2017.

In a deal brokered by Huntingdon/Norris, the chestnut stallion becomes the fifth son of Juddmonte's blue hen Kind (Ire) (Danehill) to gain a berth at stud. Another full-brother, the treble Group 1 winner Noble Mission (GB), was recruited to Lane's End Farm in Kentucky, while half-brother Bullet Train (GB) (Sadler's Wells) is also in America at Crestwood Farm and Morpheus (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}) stands at Tally-Ho Stud in Ireland.

“We're delighted to be standing Proconsul at Mickley Stud and we look forward to welcoming breeders to see him,” said Richard Kent. “He's a fine-looking colt and obviously his pedigree speaks for itself.”

He added, “It's always been a pleasure doing business with Juddmonte and it is encouraging that they have retained a number of breeding rights in Proconsul. We bought Multiplex from Juddmonte eight years ago and he has been a grand servant to Mickley Stud and to our many clients. It was sad to say goodbye to him this week as he left us for stud in Bahrain but we're sure that Proconsul will prove to be a worthy replacement.”

Proconsul, who ran twice in France for Andre Fabre, joins Heeraat (Ire) (Dark Angel {Ire}), Captain Gerrard (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}) and Shamardal's brother Yorgunnabelucky (Giant's Causeway) on the roster at Mickley, where he will stand for a fee of £3,500 (Live Foal, Oct. 1).
