Shoved along off the home turn, the 5-6 favourite came under sterner urging passing the two pole and kept on strongly in the closing stages to deny Medal of Honour (GB) (Lope de Vega {Ire}) by a half length nearing the line. “Ryan [Moore] liked him the first day and Aidan [O'Brien] said he'd come on plenty so we were hoping for him to run well and he did,” explained rider Seamus Heffernan. “It wasn't a typical Irish race in that we went nice to halfway and then we were racing. I don't think he has yet been asked if he's a speed horse or stayer so I'm not sure about his trip, but seven furlongs or a mile should be no problem to him.” The 1,100,000gns TATOCT yearling is the seventh winner produced by Tyranny (GB) (Machiavellian) and is a half to G1 Phoenix S.-winning Irish highweight and sire Zoffany (Ire) (Dansili {GB}), G3 Anglesey S. victor Wilshire Boulevard (Ire) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}) and the stakes-placed That's Plenty (Ire) (Dr Fong). Tyranny is a winning daughter of G3 Prix de la Nonette victress Dust Dancer (GB) (Suave Dancer), who also produced GII Lake Placid H. winner Spotlight (GB) (Dr Fong) and Listed Swinley S. second Dusty Answer (Zafonic), who in turn is the dam of G2 Oaks d'Italia runner-up Counterclaim (GB) (Pivotal {GB}).
