Flintshire, Lady Eli Breeze for Brown

Flintshire (GB) | Sarah K. Andrew

The Chad Brown stable sent a number of stakes performers out to breeze Sunday morning at Belmont, most notably MGISWs Flintshire (GB) (Dansili {GB}) and Lady Eli (Divine Park). Flintshire breezed four furlongs in :50.08 seconds over the turf in his first drill since capturing the GI Longines Sword Dancer S. at Saratoga Aug. 27. The celebrated world traveler worked in company with Money Multiplier (Lookin At Lucky), who finished second behind his stablemate in the Sword Dancer.

Lady Eli returned from a year-plus layoff to finish second in the GII Ballston Spa S. at Saratoga Aug. 27, and returned to work Sunday with a four-furlong breeze in :47.66 in company with GI Beverly D. S. winner Sea Calisi (Fr) (Youmzain {Ire}).

“They all came out of it fine, I was happy with all of them,” said Brown, who was visiting Lexington for the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Among the Keeneland September graduates in Brown's stable is Practical Joke (Into Mischief), winner of the GI Hopeful S. on Saratoga's closing day, Sept. 5.

“It's a big part of our stable for sure,” Brown said of the sale. “A lot of nice prospects that come through my barn started right here at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale. I always love to attend, and a lot of my clients do as well.”
