Hugo Palmer has been handed a £1,000 fine by the BHA after a member of his racing staff was found with non-permitted substances in the stable-yard at Ascot on QIPCO British Champions Day in October. Palmer's runners on the day Galileo Gold (GB) (Paco Boy {Ire}) and Architecture (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}) were both allowed to run having tested clear of any prohibited substances. Palmer's staff member was found in possession of electrolytes and the prescription antibiotic Trimediazine Plain. Also reprimanded for a similar offence on the same day was French trainer Francois Rohaut who was fined £750 for one of his team being in possession of electrolytes and Ekygard Flash, a nutritional support for horses with gastric problems. The remedies were intended for Signs Of Blessing (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) to be administered on his return journey to France.
