Fatale Bere made her American debut a winning one, rallying to capture the Surfer Girl S. in the final race on Santa Anita's Columbus Day card. Guided to the inside and lagging well off the pace behind splits of :22.28 and :46.35, she tipped out entering the far turn, fanned wide into the stretch and launched a prolonged bid between horses to nip a rallying Moon Dash on the wire by a nose. The bay captured her first two starts in France this summer and was last seen finishing third in the Prix Etalons de Montfort & Preaux at Craon Sept. 2 before being privately purchased by these connections.
