Godolphin homebred Enticed (Medaglia d’Oro) emerged from his 2 3/4-length victory in Saturday’s GIII Gotham S. at Aqueduct in good order and will likely be pointed to the GII Wood Memorial S. April 7, trainer Kiaran McLaughlin said Sunday morning.
Enticed is scheduled to fly back to South Florida Monday to rejoin his trainer’s main winter string at Palm Meadows.
“He’ll come back here and train in Florida just because it worked well,” said McLaughlin. “The main goal, obviously, is the first Saturday in May, but the Wood would make the most sense. We’ve still got to talk more about it, but we will look at the Wood Memorial.”
Enticed, third in the GI Champagne S. and winner of the GII Kentucky Jockey Club S. as a juvenile in 2017, rebounded from a head-scratching fourth-place finish in the GII Holy Bull S. at Gulfstream with his Gotham score.
