Hip 238, Enchanted Rock (Giant's Causeway–Chic Shirine, by Mr. Prospector) offered some fireworks early at Keeneland Wednesday, realizing a $2 million final bid from Peter Brant's White Birch Farm. Consigned by Gainesway, Agent XXII, the 13-year-old mare–in foal to More Than Ready–is out of Grade I winning Chic Shirine, a sister to champion Queena. Accomplished in her own right as a broodmare, the Emory Hamilton-bred mare has already produced GI Haskell Invitational and Wood Memorial hero Verrazano (More Than Ready) in addition to Grade II scorer El Padrino (Pulpit).
