Enable & 'Eye' in Good Nick

Enable (GB) (Nathaniel {Ire}) remains on course to try for a fourth top-level success of the season in the G1 Darley Yorkshire Oaks at York on Aug. 24. After winning both the English and Irish Oaks, the John Gosden-trained 3-year-old claimed a runaway victory last time out in the G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth S. at Ascot.

Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, said, “Enable is fine. She has not done much since Ascot, but she has come out of the race very well. I would hope she will now go to the Yorkshire Oaks. Hopefully she will continue to do well and be aimed at the highest races. We are hoping she will get to the [G1 Prix de l']Arc [de Triomphe on Oct. 1].”

Undefeated G2 Vintage S. hero Expert Eye (GB) (Acclamation {GB}), who also races in the famed salmon and green colours, is in good form. The Sir Michael Stoute charge will next appear in either the seven-furlong G1 National S. at The Curragh on Sept. 10 or the G2 Champagne S. at Doncaster on Sept. 15.

“It is not Sir Michael's way to do too much too soon and it has worked out,” said Grimthorpe. “The National S. and the Champagne are still both under consideration. I doubt he will get much further than a mile, but I think that will emerge to be the right distance for him given the way he won on Tuesday.”
