Easy Monday for Preakness Hero

GI Preakness S. winner Exaggerator (Curlin) continues to do well in the aftermath of his Saturday triumph and walked the shedrow Monday morning at Pimlico Race Course, trainer Keith Desormeaux confirmed.

“He didn't do anything [Monday] but walk,” Desormeaux said. “We'll probably go back to the track [Tuesday] morning.”

The conditioner added that Exaggerator will remain in Baltimore for the duration of the week, before shipping to New York Sunday to begin preparations for the June 11 GI Belmont S. Runner-up to Reddam Racing's Nyquist (Uncle Mo) in the GI Kentucky Derby May 7, the Big Chief Racing, Head of Plains Partners, Rocker O Ranch et al. colorbearer turned the tables on that foe Saturday, with Nyquist narrowly getting nosed out by 'TDN Rising Star' Cherry Wine (Paddy O'Prado) for place honors.

As of Sunday, all three colts were expected to meet again in the Belmont.
