I'll Have Another (Flower Alley–Arch's Gal Edith, by Arch), winner of the 2012 GI Kentucky Derby and GI Preakness S., was represented by his first winner Saturday when first-time starter Un Autre (Jpn) graduated by 1 3/4 lengths over 1600 metres of the Tokyo turf course.

Sent off at debut odds of 5.20-1, Un Autre showed good early speed and led briefly before coming back to jockey Masami Matsuoka to lay second through the opening five furlongs. Shaken up at the head of the lane, the bay raced a bit greenly and was tardy in switching his leads, but knuckled down once he did so with about 300 metres to travel and came away to a solid success (video).

Un Autre is owned by Big Red Farm, which stands the former Paul Reddam runner on the island of Hokkaido alongside Admire Max (Jpn) (Sunday Silence), Gold Ship (Jpn) (Stay Gold {Jpn}) and Roses In May (Devil His Due). Un Autre is the fourth winner from five to race from his dam Taiki Shine (Jpn) (Taiki Shuttle), a half-sister to MGSP Hit Japotto (Jpn) (Fuji Kiseki {Jpn}). The mare's colt foal by Just A Way (Jpn) (Heart's Cry {Jpn}) is catalogued as lot 399 for the JRHA Select Sale on Hokkaido July 12.

I'll Have Another is represented by 101 registered 2-year-olds and 91 yearlings of this year. He was bred to a book of 127 mares in 2015.
