Terra's Angel took to the turf, capturing the Monday supporting feature over the Del Mar lawn. A first-out winner at Lone Star Park May 13 for trainer Terry Eoff, the filly resurfaced to run third in the local 6 1/2-furlong GII Sorrento S. for trainer Dallas Keen, with Johnny Evans acquiring a share of the ownership along with Eoff. Stretched out to two turns on the grass here, the chestnut was dismissed at odds of 19-1 and raced in third behind fractions of :22.78 and :47.60. Bidding to seize control coming off the far turn, the filly dug in to rebuff a challenge from longshot One Fast Broad (Decarchy)–who closed from far back–and prevailed by a half-length. “We were having kind of a rough meet other than the third in the Sorrento (with Terra's Angel),” said Keen. “This is a nice one to wind up with. We had a good meet.” The winner's second dam is GSW Fantasy Angel (Saint Ballado).
