Dream Ahead's Al Wukair Remains Perfect With Isonomy Triumph

Al Wukair recovered from a sluggish start to prevail in impressive fashion going seven furlongs at Saint-Cloud on debut in his only prior start Sept. 30, and provided conditioner Andre Fabre with a record-equalling fourth renewal of this contest won last year by hitherto unbeaten G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches and G1 Prix de Diane heroine La Cressonniere (Fr) (Le Havre {Ire}). The bay was slow from the gate once more here, but raced in touch under a taut rein at the back of the pack. Tanking into third on the home turn, he joined the leaders full of run just inside the two pole and quickened smartly for one flick of the whip inside the final eighth to easily register a first black-type success.

The 200,000gns TAOCT yearling is half to the dual stakes-placed Witches Brew (Ire) (Duke of Marmalade {Ire}), a yearling colt by Dream Ahead and a filly foal by Charm Spirit (Ire). They are out of a winning daughter of European highweight distaffer and G1 Prix de Diane victress Caerlina (Ire) (Caerleon), whose three black-type performers include G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches and G1 Irish 1000 Guineas third La Nuit Rose (Fr) (Rainbow Quest), who in turn produced GII Kelso H. victor Tam Lin (GB) (Selkirk) and Listed Derby de l'Ouest scorer Blue Rambler (GB) (Monsun {Ger}). Other descendants of Caerlina are headed by MSW GII West Virginia Derby runner-up Souper Colossal (War Front), MG1SP G2 Kinko Sho winner Current Mirotic (Jpn) (Heart's Cry {Jpn}) and his G1SP G3 Kyoto Himba S.-winning half-sister Hikaru Amaranthus (Jpn) (Agnes Tachyon {Jpn}).
