Doyle No Longer Bin Suroor Number One

James Doyle | Racing Post

Jockey James Doyle, who signed as a contract rider to Godolphin last January, will no longer be the first-call rider for trainer Saeed bin Suroor, according to Racing Post. Bin Suroor indicated Doyle would continue to ride for him, telling that publication, “James has ridden some nice winners for Godolphin and I hope he will ride many more. He's a friend and a big part of the Godolphin team. But our policy will be to choose the jockey who best suits individual horses.”

Godolphin's other British-based retained jockey, William Buick–who has ridden as first-call rider to Godolphin's other British-based trainer, Charlie Appleby–has the mount on three Saeed bin Suroor-trained runners at Goodwood and Newmarket later this week, including G1 Melbourne Cup hopeful Sky Hunter (GB) (Motivator {GB}) in the Listed Foundation S.
