Sheikh Fahad's Qatar Bloodstock bagged a pair of wins at Flemington on Saturday. The first came with the 4-year-old mare Dulverton (Aus) (Commands {Aus}) in the second race on the card, a one mile benchmark 84 race. Trained by Robert Smerdon and ridden by Brandon Stockdale, Dulverton scored by 1 1/4 lengths and was earning her second straight win off a benchmark 78 score at Sandown-Lakeside on July 12. Dulverton was a A$180,000 purchase by David Redvers at the 2014 Inglis Easter yearling sale.
Two races later, the Qatar Bloodstock colours were back in the winner's enclosure when the 4-year-old gelding Portman (Aus) (Makfi {GB}) lifted a 1400 metre benchmark 84 race for trainer Danny O'Brien, who is a part-owner of the horse. Portman, a A$200,000 purchase from the same sale as Dulverton, was winning for the second time this year and fourth time overall.
