A well-related Distorted Humor colt catalogued as hip 490 to the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale was hammered down to California trainer Simon Callaghan on behalf of “an existing client” for $850,000 to take over as the second-dearest offering of the auction. The Apr. 5 foal is a son of SW Lemon Kiss (Lemon Drop Kid), a full-sister to GSW Kiss the Kid and dam of GISW Lochte (Medaglia d'Oro) in addition to the promising Japanese-based 3-year-old filly Ten Mohs (Speightstown). Lemon Kiss was sold to the Courtelis' Town and Country Farms for $1.325 million carrying this colt in utero at the 2014 Fasig-Tipton November sale. Grupo 7C signed the winning ticket on the colt following a winning bid of $350,000 at the 2016 Keeneland September yearling sale. Hip 490 was consigned to the Midlantic sale by Eddie Woods, agent, and breezed his eighth of a mile in a smooth :10.2.
