Dam of Classic Winner to Sell at Tattersalls December

Billesdon Brook's dam Coplow will sell at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale | Racing Post

Coplow (GB) (Manduro {Ger}-Anna Oleanda {Ire}, by Old Vic), the dam of G1 1000 Guineas & G1 Sun Chariot S. heroine Billesdon Brook (GB) (Champs Elysees {GB}), will be offered in foal to Kingman (GB) at the Dec. 2-5 Tattersalls December Mares Sale. Slated to sell on Dec. 3, the 10-year-old will be consigned by Jeanette McCreery's Stowell Hill Stud on behalf of Stowell Hill Partners. Her first foal, the listed winner Billesdon Bess (GB) (Dick Turpin {Ire}), was knocked down for 800,000gns during the 2018 Tattersalls December Sale.  She is believed to be carrying a colt after a Mar. 16 cover.

“It is rare for such a young dam of a Classic winner to be offered for sale and Billesdon Brook's win in the Group 1 Sun Chariot S. was a fantastic update to an already outstanding pedigree,” said Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony. “As well as producing a Classic winner and a stakes winner with her first two foals, Coplow is in foal to one of the world's most exciting young sires in Kingman, and she is a wonderful tribute to Jeanette McCreery and her late husband Bob, who have bred so many great racehorses over the years.”

A half-sister to MGSW Anna Nerium (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), and the GSWs Middle Club (GB) (Fantastic Light) and Piping Rock (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), the chestnut counts German champion Anna Paola (Ger) (Prince Ippi {Ger}) as her second dam. This is also the family of French highweight juvenile colt National Defense (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}), and Australian Group 1 winners Helmet (Aus) (Exceed And Excel {Aus}) and Epaulette (Aus) (Commands {Aus}).
