Curlin Filly Cruises in Comeback

8th-OP, $70,000, Alw, 2-5, (NW1X), 3yo, f, 1 1/16m, 1:45.96, ft.
TERRA PROMESSA (f, 3, Curlin–Missile Bay {SW, $200,721}, by Yes It's True) almost overcame a slow start to finish a close-up third sprinting at Keeneland first out Oct. 14, and earned her diploma going this distance under the Twin Spires a month later. Off since then, the 3-5 chalk was away well and settled in to stalk the pace three deep into the first turn. Traveling ominously as she asserted into the home bend, the homebred responded willingly to a few taps at the head of the lane before being wrapped up on late, cruising home by nine lengths over Cold Dish (Ice Box). The winner's fleet-footed dam was a $700,000 Keeneland November acquisition in 2006 while in foal to Forestry. She produceda Maclean's Music colt last year and was bred back to Astrology. Lifetime Record: 3-2-0-1, $80,600. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
