Claiming Championship Returns at the Big A

Aqueduct | Sarah Andrew

The New York Racing Association's Claiming Championship Series will offer nine stakes races worth $625,000 when it returns for the third year Saturday at Aqueduct Racetrack.

Like in 2016, this year's iteration will be held on the main track at distances ranging from six furlongs to 1 1/8 miles.

Named after some of the most familiar claiming horses to run at the Big A, the nine races are open to horses which have started for a claiming price this year or last year. Headlining the day's card is the $90,000 Mr. Sinatra, carded as Race 8.
