Claiborne Announces 2018 Stud Fees

War Front

Claiborne Farm has set the stud fees for its 2018 stallion roster, led once again by international super sire War Front, who will remain at $250,000, the second-highest fee in North America. War Front is currently the second-ranked sire by Grade I winners in North America.

A new face at Claiborne is Mastery, a multiple Grade I winner by Candy Ride (Arg)–sire of GI Breeders' Cup Classic winner Gun Runner–who was the early favorite for the GI Kentucky Derby before being forced to retire due to injury. The bay will debut with a $25,000 fee in 2018.

Flatter will see a slight increase in his fee from $35,000 to $40,000. He sired one of the likely favorites for Champion 3-year-old Male in West Coast, who followed up wins in the GI Travers S. and GI Pennsylvania Derby with a third-place finish in Saturday's Classic.

The rest of the roster, with fees, are as follows: Algorithms ($7,500), Blame ($12,500), Data Link ($5,000), First Samurai ($15,000), Ironicus ($5,000), Lea ($7,500), Orb ($25,000), Runhappy ($25,000) and Trappe Shot ($7,500).
