+HOT IN THE CITY (f, 2, City Zip–Flowerbomb, by Mineshaft) got a great trip and rallied late to a debut score in the first on closing day at Del Mar. Coming in with a sharp worktab, most recently going a bullet five furlongs in 1:00 4/5 (1/5) from the gate Nov. 24 at Oak Tree Pleasanton, the chestnut was let go at 9-2 and broke alertly to sit a close-up fourth by a :22.48 quarter. Saving ground on the turn, she angled out one path at the top of the lane, reeled in co-favorite True Testament (Hansen) at the sixteenth pole and inched away late to a 1 1/4-length success. The winner's dam is a half to GISW Materiality (Afleet Alex) and GSW/MGISP My Miss Sophia (Unbridled's Song), while her second dam, Wildwood Flower (Langfuhr), is a MGSP half to MGSW/GISP Eye of the Tiger (American Chance) and Expanse (Distant View), the SP dam of GISWs Afleet Express (Afleet Alex) and Embellish the Lace (Super Saver). Flowerbomb is responsible for a yearling filly by Blame who sold for $105,000 at Keeneland September and foaled a Will Take Charge filly this term before visiting the winner's sire once more. Sales History: $160,000 Ylg '15 KEESEP. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $31,200. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
