Cinnamon Spice (m, 6, Candy Ride {Arg}), a half-sister to GISW and promising young sire Violence (Medaglia d'Oro) and descending from one of the best families in the studbook, fetched a final bid of $700,000 from Oussama Aboughazale's International Equities Holdings to take over as the top price at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale in Lexington. The mare was consigned by Taylor Made Sales on behalf of Rick Porter's Fox Hill Farms Inc., who campaigned the $350,000 Keeneland September yearling purchase to four wins from nine starts and earnings just shy of $145,000. Cinnamon Spice's third dam is filly Triple Tiara winner Sky Beauty (Blushing Groom {Fr}), whose dam Maplejinsky (Nijinsky II) was a winner of the GI Alabama S. and is a half-sister to G1SW Dayjur. This is also the female family of GISW and sire Tale of Ekati as well as Phipps Stable stars Pleasant Home, Point of Entry and Pine Island. The hammer price is the largest at the February sale since 2013, when horses from the dispersal of Eugene Melnyk were front and center. Pool Land (Silver Deputy) topped that year's event on a bid of $900,000.
