MISS MIMOSA (f, 3, Violence&log=#tot">Violence–Walloon {SW}, by Alphabet Soup), who RNA'd for $110,000 as a KEESEP yearling, was a sneakily bet 7-1 shot for the patient Bill Mott barn. Showing a modest worktab at Mott's Payson Park base, capped off by a half-mile spin in :50 flat (8/21) Mar. 3, the gray tracked the speed from the second flight along the rail through a :22.45 quarter. Angling off the rail as her two companions dropped away midway on the turn, she sidled up to pacesetter East Moon (Speightstown) passing a :45.89 half, took charge soon thereafter and went clear for a five-length score. East Moon was clearly second best. The victress has a yearling half-sister by Broken Vow and her dam was bred to Twirling Candy last season. Chiquita and Jeff Reddoch's Stonehaven Steadings purchased the winner's dam, stakes-winning Walloon, for $50,000 at the 2010 Fasig-Tipton February sale.
