Toormore (Ire) (Arakan-Danetime Out {Ire}, by Danetime {Ire}) has died after sustaining an injury training in Dubai, Racing Post reports. Winner of the G2 Vintage S. and G1 Goffs Vincent O'Brien National S. for Middleham Park Racing and James Pak at two, Toormore was bought by Godolphin midway through his 4-year-old campaign and won first out in the blue in the G2 Lennox S. He added Turkey's G2 International Topkapi Trophy and the following year's G2 bet365 mile for trainer Richard Hannon and was set to stand at Dalham Hall Stud last year before lack of interest from breeders saw him returned to training with Charlie Appleby. He did not start in 2017 and had not yet raced this year.

“Unfortunately Toormore met with a setback in Dubai which meant we had to put him down,” Appleby told Racing Post. “He had a great career as part of the Godolphin operation prior to joining me and gave much pleasure to his previous owners Middleham Park, during which time he was champion 2-year-old.”

Tim Palin of Middleham Park told Racing Post: “Toormore was an absolute legend of a horse for us as he cost only 36,000gns and went on to become champion 2-year-old in 2013, when he was competing with all the bluebloods. He was a real game-changer for Middleham Park as we became 50% bigger as an operation because of him. He's been a hard act to follow as to get another one like him on our budget is nigh on impossible these days.”
